Supv Emergency Preparedness

Supervises Emergency Preparedness (EP) staff at Palo Verde Generating Station responsible for Drills/Exercises, Facilities/Equipment, Training, Plan/Procedures and Beyond Design Basis Programs, ERO training and cyber security. Ensures compliance with the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) Code of Federal Regulations for each program as applicable. Works with the Nuclear Energy Institute (NEI) and Institute of Nuclear Power Operations (INPO) to ensure regulatory changes and industry initiatives are incorporated into programs and processes.
Minimum Requirements:
A Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Science, Law Enforcement, Health Physics, Criminal Science, Engineering or other job-related field from an accredited college or university plus four (4) years experience in Security, Emergency Preparedness, Operations, Engineering, Health Physics or Regulatory Affairs positions; two (2) years experience must be in the nuclear industry. In lieu of four-year bachelor degree, combination of education and/or experience in Security, Emergency Preparedness, Operations, Engineering, Health Physics or Regulatory Affairs positions equaling eight (8) years required; five (5) years experience must be in the nuclear industry. Requires knowledge and experience in NRC and FEMA Emergency Preparedness and Security regulations and state, local and federal standards. Employees filling this position are expected to be qualified and participate as EOF Security Manager or Lead Facility Controller. Prior supervisory experience is desirable.
Nuclear requirement: Any PVGS employee may be called upon to serve as a member of the Emergency Response Organization (ERO) and will be expected to fulfill their obligation as an ERO member. This is a condition of employment at PVGS. Roles and Responsibilities defined in Policy 1503 and implementing policy guide are applicable to all PVGS employees. Any PVGS employee may be called upon to support a refueling or short-notice outage. This includes line roles and responsibilities as necessary to execute outage activities.
Major Accountabilities:
1) Supervises implementation of strategies for the Emergency Preparedness organization by ensuring internal commitments are met.
2) Provides supervisory oversight to ensure the Emergency Preparedness Program is implemented in accordance with 10CFR50.47.
3) Implements and monitors Emergency Preparedness department budget. Monitors expenditures of unit ensuring prudent use of company money and resources.
4) Monitors effectiveness of ERO Training.
5) Oversees the maintenance of equipment important to Emergency Preparedness, the Alert and Notification System, and Emergency Response facilities to ensure a high rate of readiness.
6) Oversees development and maintenance of department programs and procedures including the Emergency Plan, Emergency Plan implementing procedures and Emergency Preparedness department procedures.
7) Monitors performance indicators for drills and exercises, department metrics and Corrective Action Program (CAP).
8) Provides the site with effective communications to ensure a high level of awareness of Emergency Preparedness activities, commitments, and requirements.
9) Develops a high performing team through effective coaching, performance feedback, recognition, training and developmental opportunities. Responsible for staffing, salary administration and performance management of team.
10) Monitors and implements internal/external Emergency Preparedness operating experience and industry lessons learned.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
