Palo Verde- Engineering Summer Intern

We are looking for students interested in experience in practicing and learning business, engineering, information systems fundamentals in real work settings. The Palo Verde Summer internship is a paid 12 week program. During the 12 weeks at Palo Verde, interns will use their knowledge and skills while working on both an individual and group project. Interns will also have the opportunity to participate in a week long orientation and company tours to learn more about Palo Verde and Arizona Public Service.
Minimum Requirements
Actively enrolled in an accredited college or university undergraduate Civil, Electrical, Mechanical or Nuclear Engineering program. Must show ongoing achievement in areas of study and training. Preferred: Minimum GPA of 3.2.
Nuclear requirement: Any PVGS employee may be called upon to serve as a member of the Emergency Response Organization (ERO) and will be expected to fulfill their obligation as an ERO member. This is a condition of employment at PVNGS. Roles and Responsibilities defined in Policy 1503 and implementing policy guide are applicable to all PVGS employees.
Any PVGS employee may be called upon to support a refueling or short-notice outage. This includes line roles and responsibilities as necessary to execute outage activities.
Major Accountabilities
1) Performs simple to intermediate analysis and designs. May assist in preparing business/engineering plans, designs, specifications, cost estimates, evaluations and studies.
2) Assists in research, business documentation, studies or technical reviews. Conducts analyses, investigations, verifications and summarizes results or findings in written reports or oral presentations.
3) Utilizes internal resources to learn business/engineering operations/functions and apply learning in completion of work assignments.
4) Coordinates efforts with other disciplines, and/or departments in achieving project goals and task assignments.
5) Performs other related duties as required.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
